Solar SP C-Tech Power Barrow

The Solar SP C-Tech Power Barrow is the top of Solar's barrow range: a 300W hub motor, 360° rotating rear wheels and a controller you can tune to your own walking pace. The barrow for anglers who have given up carrying gear up hills.

What the 300W motor actually buys you

• XD 300 Pace Wheel Hub, 300W — Solar's best-in-class hub motor. Steep climbs and soft ground stop dictating how much gear you take.
• Micro Touch Power Controller with LCD — repositionable thumb control with a 6-point battery indicator, so you are never guessing at the far end of the lake.
• Variable speed and three gear differentials — match the pull to your pace rather than being towed. The gearing handles the difference between a towpath and a wet bank.
• Sleep timer with auto power off — shuts itself down if you forget it in the rush to get rods out. Saves a flat battery.
• 360° full-rotation rear wheels on sealed bearings — turn it on a sixpence in a tight swim without lifting the back end. Wheel height adjusts too.
• All-enclosed CPU and plug-and-play wiring — every connection hidden behind waterproof plugs, which is what separates a barrow that lasts from one that dies in its second winter.

Carrying capacity and the battery

The frame is width-adjustable and the front shelf adds load space above the Drop-Loc bag, which sits inside the frame in SolarCam camo with zipped side access. The oversize SolarCam shroud is included rather than extra. Batteries sit in an EVA case that lifts out while the barrow is still loaded, so you can charge between sessions without unpacking the van.

With or without battery

The Solar SP C-Tech Power Barrow is sold both ways here — take the battery option if you are starting from scratch, or go without if you already run a compatible pack. Most retailers list one configuration only, so check what you are comparing on price.
