Harrison's reputation is built on blanks like the legendary Torrix, and the 12ft Aviator Flex shares that DNA – a fast taper with woven 1K carbon running right to the tip. Where it parts company with its stablemate the Aviator Plus is in the butt: a slower-taper mandrel that loads progressively and cushions every lunge.
Don't mistake that softer through-action for a lack of power, though. A dedicated power zone in the lower section means there's real grunt on tap for distance work and for bullying fish out of trouble – a forgiving rod to play a fish on that still has plenty to give when it counts.
